The gangway will be open for visitors wishing to step aboard Kaskelot in Bristol this Easter! The magnificent square rigged sailing vessel will be back in her home port during March, April and May. Do not miss the unique opportunity to explore above and below the decks of this wonderful wooden sailing vessel.
Built in 1945 by J Ring Andersen Shipyard, Denmark, Kaskelot is truly an excellent example of a solid oak, ice class cargo vessel. She is now fitted out as an ocean going blue water sailing vessel, seamlessly blending modern technology with traditional oak finishes and Douglas fir masts and spars. She is rigged as a three masted barque, her main mast standing at 32m!
Why not come down to Bristol docks and learn more about the art of square rigged sailing, or if you are already passionate about these ships then come down and share your experiences with us.
The ship will be open especially for the Easter weekend (25th March- 28th March 2016).
